Dental Treatment Services

Fillings

Image
Nobody wants to get cavities, but when you do, the best way to treat it is to get a filling. There are several options for treatment. Your student or resident dentist may recommend specific procedures and materials based on the size and location of the cavity, how long the materials are expected to last and the costs for treatment.

Cleanings

Image
While at-home brushing and flossing are important, it’s not a substitute for professional cleanings to remove plaque and examine your gums, teeth and mouth for signs of potential problems.

Sealants

Image
Dental sealants can be one of the most effective ways to prevent cavities. Sealants are made of a durable plastic and most often applied to your back teeth, where deep grooves often harbor food and bacteria, causing decay and leading to cavities.

Extractions

Image
While most people would prefer to keep their natural teeth for their entire life, it is sometimes necessary to have a tooth pulled in adulthood if it becomes damaged or decayed and cannot be repaired, or if there is a risk that a tooth may lead to serious infection and could negatively impact other areas of the mouth.

X-rays

Image
The first step to becoming a patient is to schedule a comprehensive exam where x-rays will be taken of your mouth.

Check ups

Image
Routine dental checkups are an important part of maintaining good oral health for you and your family. We offer preventive care that includes regular teeth cleanings and comprehensive dental exams for children, teens, adults and seniors at rates that are typically lower than you what you would pay at most private dental practices.

Bridges

Image
Dental bridges are designed to bridge a gap that exists if you have one or more missing teeth. Bridges are constructed with two or more crowns, which are placed on top of your natural teeth on either side of the gap, and a false tooth (or teeth) in the place of your missing tooth or teeth.

Dentures

Image
Dentures are removable appliances that can replace missing teeth and help restore your smile. If you’ve lost all of your natural teeth, whether from gum disease, tooth decay or injury, replacing missing teeth will benefit your appearance and your health, making it easier to eat and speak properly. Dentures may even improve the look of your smile.

Crowns

Image
Dental crowns are a procedure commonly used to cover an existing tooth when you want to restore the shape, size, or strength of the tooth, or improve its appearance. When properly installed, a crown will cover all the visible portions of a tooth above the gum line and match the appearance of your natural teeth.

Root Canals

Image
A root canal is often something that people think of as a painful procedure, but it’s actually one of the most effective ways to treat and save a tooth that may otherwise be lost to decay. We can provide this treatment at affordable rates that are typically lower than what you would pay at most private dental practices.

Implants

Image
Implants are a relatively new treatment option for many patients, but they have quickly become one of the most popular choices for someone who is missing one or more teeth. We offer high-quality and affordable dental implants for patients in the Salt Lake City area.

Periodontal Procedures

Image
Periodontal disease is the medical term for gum disease. Patients who require more advanced periodontal treatments will generally see a Roseman University College of Dental Medicine faculty member who is a licensed periodontist.

Costs and Insurance

Costs

Roseman Dental, the clinical practice of Roseman University College of Dental Medicine, is an affordable option for your family’s dental needs in the Salt Lake Valley. We offer care at rates that are typically lower than what you would find at a traditional dental office because our care is provided by student dentists going through thorough training and education in our Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) Program and resident dentists enrolled in the Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) Residency Program.

All care is supervised by faculty members who are licensed dentists in Utah. Please note that while dental care is typically lower than what you would find at a traditional dental office, we are not able to provide it free of charge.

Insurance

Dental insurance is not required for treatment and we can accept payment in cash, credit or debit cards.

We also accept Medicaid for procedures that are covered under that plan. If you have private dental insurance, we would be happy to provide you with a claim form that you can submit to your insurance company following your treatment to seek reimbursement from your insurance provider.

Dental Membership Plan

The Roseman University Dental Membership Plan is provided as a service to our patients without dental insurance.  Membership is available for individuals and additional family members. This membership plan can be used at Roseman University, South Jordan student and resident dental clinics only.  Members receive all diagnostic services, radiology (with the exception of Cone Beam CT’s, which are discounted at 20%) and preventive services at 100% discount. Other Services are provided at a 20% reduction of our usual fee.
